Very close to the center of Paris is Disneyland Paris, also known as EuroDisney. This Disney complex is the only one that exists in Europe so it receives many visitors per year in search of fun and the magic of Disney. If you need help planning your trip, in this guide you will find a step-by-step guide on how to plan a trip to Disneyland Paris on your own.
Guide for planning a trip to Paris
1. Is Disneyland Paris worth it?
I know that many people doubt whether the Disney Park in Paris is as worth it as it’s not as big as the ones in United Stated. Disneyland Paris is a much smaller complex than Disney World in Orlando but believe me it has the same magic and it is definitely worth it. If you are hesitating to go because you know Disney Orlando, I assure you that Disneyland Paris does not disappoint. It is much smaller, but many attractions are the same and can be enjoyed just as in Orlando.
2. How many days do you need for visiting Disneyland Paris?
This question is one of the first ones you will ask yourself when organizing a trip to Disneyland Paris and will obviously depend on several factors such as the time you have, who you are traveling with and what budget you have available. Disneyland Paris has 2 parks: Disneyland and Walt Disney Studios. In my opinion it is necessary to allocate 1 day to each park. Keep in mind that the parks are large and there is usually a long wait at the main attractions depending on the season. My recommendation is to visit Disneyland for 2 full days, staying 3 nights at the resort. You can also visit Disneyland as a day trip from Paris. In this case I recommend you choose to visit just one park.
3. How to get to Disneyland Paris
Disneyland Paris is located in Marne-la-Vallée, about 33 km east of Paris. The good thing is that it is very well connected by public transport and it is really easy to get there on your own.
- Train from Paris to Disneyland Paris
The simplest way to get from Paris to Disneyland is to take line A (red) of the RER (Paris regional trains). The Disneyland station is “Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy” and it is right where the access to the parks is. The ticket for the trip can be purchased both at the machines available at the Disneyland station and in Paris and costs around €10 round trip, depending on the Paris station from which you start the tour. The duration of the train journey is approximately 40 minutes.
Getting to Disneyland Paris from the airport You may choose to go to Disneyland direct from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. There are several options to make this journey:
- Train
The quickest option to get from Charles de Gaulle Airport to Disneyland is to take the TGV high-speed train to the “Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy” station. It is a journey of only 9 minutes. To get a good price, you need to book your ticket in advance. I recommend buying it on the OMIO website (register with my code ivanal9i0e3b and they will give you a €10 discount).

- Bus
Another option is to take the Magical Shuttle, a Disney bus that offers direct transportation between the airport and Disneyland. The rate for adults per trip is €23 and for children €10. The best thing about this bus service is that they leave you directly at your hotel within Disney. The trip lasts approximately 1 hour.
- Private transportation to Disneyland Paris
Another option that is definitely convenient if you are traveling as a family and with a lot of luggage, is to book a private transportation between the airport and Disneyland Paris. You will only need to get into the car or van and enjoy the ride to your hotel with comfortable seats and air conditioning.
4. Tickets for Disneyland Paris The next step when planning your trip to Disneyland Paris is to buy tickets to the park, since you have to do it in advance. Keep in mind that for popular dates like Christmas, park tickets may sell out, so the sooner you buy them the better. Disneyland ticket prices vary depending on the time of your trip and the number of days you choose to visit the parks. The ticket price for 1 park per day per adult starts at €59. The more days you stay, the cheaper the tickets will be. In high season tickets can cost more than €150. You can also book a combined ticket entrance to Disneyland + shuttle like this one.
5. Accommodation in Disneyland Paris
It’s time to look for a place to sleep. There are many options and each one has its benefits. For a complete guide read: Where to stay in Disneyland Paris
- Hotels in Disneyland Paris
Sleeping in Disneyland hotels is the most expensive option but also the one that allows you to live the complete experience. All Disney hotels have a theme and this makes them special. Staying inside Disney hotels also has some benefits, which are: free bus transportation to the parks (although the hotels are within the complex, they are not exactly at the access to the parks), Extra Magic Hours (additional hours in the parks for Disney guests), the possibility of contracting a meal plan and purchasing the accommodation + park tickets package. There are several hotels within Disney, these are some: * All prices are for rooms with two double beds (capacity: 4 adults).
- Disney’s Hotel Santa Fe (150€-269€): One of the most affordable hotels within Disneyland Paris is themed around the movie Cars and Route 66. I stayed at this hotel and honestly recommend it; I would definitely stay there again.
- Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne (170€-300€): A mid-range hotel themed with Toy Story characters and the Wild West.
- Disneyland Hotel (800€-1000€): The most luxurious hotel in Disneyland Paris, recently renovated. The decoration is inspired by each of Disney’s princess movies.
- Disneyland Paris partner hotels
There are other hotels that are located outside the Disneyland complex but are associated with the park so they have certain benefits, which are: free bus service to the parks and the possibility of purchasing the accommodation package + tickets to the parks. The great benefit of these hotels is that they are cheaper than those inside Disneyland. *all prices are estimates based on double rooms
- Adagio Marne La Vallée (70€-140€)
- Radisson Blu Hotel Paris (100€-190€)
- L’Elysée Val d’Europe (140€- 240€)
- Hotels near Disneyland
The cheapest option to sleep at Disneyland Paris is to stay outside the complex, in hotels or apartments. The only thing you will have to consider here is an extra cost of transportation from the hotel to the parks, so it is the best option if you go by car.

6. Download the Disneyland app Before traveling, I think it is essential to download the Disneyland Paris app. In this app you will see all the latest information about the parks such as schedules, a map with the delay in each attraction, your hotel reservation (if it is from Disney), meal plan, etc.
7. Food in Disneyland Paris Within the Disneyland parks there are plenty of restaurants with different budget options and types of food. You can eat at fast food places for around €15, at a themed buffet for a little more, or even bring your own food. If you stay at a Disney hotel, you can sign up for a meal plan. There are 3 types of meal plans: Standard, Plus and Extra Plus. The difference between each plan is the type of food and the price. You can also choose between including breakfast only, half board or full board. All plans include meals, snacks and drinks so that is the only thing you will spend each day. You can redeem your daily meals at restaurants and shops in Disney parks and hotels. On my trip to Disneyland I chose a standard half board meal plan. My favorite restaurant was the Agrabah Café Restaurant inside Disneyland Park. The theme restaurants in the park require an advance reservation, you can make it through the Disneyland app.
8. Visiting the Disney Village at Disneyland Paris In addition to the two theme parks, be sure to visit Disney Village. This area is outside the parks (no ticket is required to visit) and is full of shops and restaurants. The good thing is that this area opens much later than the parks so it is ideal for dinner after a long day in the park.
9. Tips for visiting Disneyland Paris
- Take advantage of the Extra Magic Time at Disney hotels: if you are staying within Disney, the great advantage is to take advantage of that extra hour that they give guests to enter each park earlier. It really makes a difference because there are few people in the park and you can enjoy the attractions with little line.
- Standby Pass: Recently Disneyland Paris launched the fast pass system that allowed free reservations for attractions. Today what can be reserved is the Standby Pass, available in the Disneyland app for free. This pass allows you to reserve a time in line at some attractions. To completely avoid lines it is necessary to purchase Disney Premier Access.
- Single Rider Access: A great option for when there is a long line at an attraction is to go to the “Single Rider” line. It is a special line, with much fewer people who are made to go on the attraction alone. What they do is basically use the people in the single rider line to fill cars on attractions with group seating, for example Ratatouille.
That’s all! I hope this post helps you plan a trip to Disneyland Paris that will remain in your memory forever. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to leave them in the comments 🙂
