Buenos Aires is a city where we can find plenty of street art in each street, but there is a particular neighborhood that is characterized by its large number of murals: Palermo. In a small area that can be perfectly seen on your own, there are more than 100 murals worth visiting. In this post I tell you which are the best street art in Palermo Soho.

The walls of each city and neighborhood have their own identity. Every time I travel I love walking the streets of this new destination, admiring its murals that express what the local society thinks. Knowing the street art of Buenos Aires is essential to have a complete visit to the city.

In Buenos Aires you can find spectacular murals in various neighborhoods but in Palermo there is a great concentration of them, so in this post I’m going to focus on showing the street art in this area.

Where is Palermo Soho located?

Palermo Soho is an area within Palermo neighborhood that has become a very popular area in the past years. In addition to finding incredible street art, you can find fashion stores, some of the best specialty coffee shops in Buenos Aires and very good restaurants and bars. It is a very picturesque area in the city.

During the week Palermo Soho is a quiet neighborhood but on the weekends it fills with people who there to take photos and enjoy the variety of restaurants. It is also very common to see fashion photoshoots with the street art of the area.

Palermo is a neighborhood located in the north of the city of Buenos Aires. Palermo Soho area is bounded by Juan B. Justo, Córdoba, Coronel Díaz and Santa Fe avenues.

How to get to Palermo Soho?

Palermo Soho is a very accessible area from anywhere in Buenos Aires.

To get there by subte (Buenos Aires metro system) you have to take the linea D (the green line) and get off at Palermo Station or Plaza Italia and then walk about 10/15 minutes.

There are also many bus lines that leave you in the area such as: 67, 55, 111, 141, 15, 34 and 68. I recommend using Google Maps.

The largest concentration of murals is found around Plaza Serrano so this is the area where you have to go.

• NIÑO GORDO

Behind this mural hides one of the most fashionable restaurants in the area: Niño Gordo (Fat Kid), an Asian grill. The restaurant’s interior has become extremely popular on Instagram for its kitschy aesthetic and hundreds of Asian lamps hanging from the ceiling. Its facade is also pretty instagrammable with this beautiful mural of a baby riding a fish.

The following murals are all located in Pasaje Russel, a narrow passage plagued with street art.

• COLORFUL FACADE
  This super colorful facade is the work of artist Dario Coronda who has several murals in the area.

• COLORFUL ROOMS

Next to the colorful facade you can find this mural by Gonzalo Prieto that shows the different rooms of a house. I couldn’t find the official name of this mural so if someone knows it, they can send it to me so I can add it.

• GIRLS HUGGING

Right in front of the two previous murals we find this great mural of two girls hugging by Juli Casas and Mar Bou.

• BUTTERFLY WINGS

Near the end of the passage there are more graffiti and these butterfly wings that are great for taking some photos. I guess there are wings murals on every city nowadays.

• CABERNET MURAL

Crossing Jorge Luis Borges street, Pasaje Russel continues and the interesting murals too. Right on the corner you can find Cabernet restaurant that has one of my favorite murals on its facade. Its artist Josefina Di Nucci brightens various corners of the city with its characteristic flowers, plants and colors.

• RAIZ DE BARRIO

On the other corner of Borges and Russel we find this incredible mural by Gonzalo Prieto that shows different images such as a child peeking out from behind a brick wall, a ball, birds, and more.

• ASTRONAUT ON A BICYCLE

The next mural we find on Russel Passage is the astronaut riding a bicycle with a galactic background. It is a work of the artist Chispart.

• THINKING PERSON

A mural that I really like and that has been in the passage for several years is this man and his thoughts, a work by Triángulo Dorado.

• DOG

Almost at the end of Russel Passage is this collage with several posters, stencils and the dog that seems very cute to me.

• LA CHOPPERÍA

At the corner of Gurruchaga and El Salvador we find the colorful facade of La Choppería, a cool bar in the neighborhood. This bar, which also has a headquarter in Colegiales neighborhood, is characterized by having facades decorated with paintings and posters by the artist Tano Verón.

Other street that groups various murals is Pasaje Santa Rosa.

• COLLAGE WALL

Almost on the corner of Gurruchaga and Santa Rosa is this great wall-collage full of stickers, paintings, wallpapers and all kinds of phrases and symbols. It is one of the most popular murals in the area and you will always find people taking photos here.

• LOVE IS IN THE AIR

Continuing along Pasaje Santa Rosa the block begins with this colorful mosaic-like mural where the phrase “Love is in the air” can be read. This mural was made by the Don’t Smoke Association.

• COLLAGE WALL 2

Right in front of the LOVE mural we find this wall-collage of a smaller magnitude than the first but still very colorful and striking.

• MASHA

On the narrow Pasaje Soria we find this beautiful mural by artist Poncho Ridolfi.

• GROWLERS FACADE

On the facade of Growlers Bar, on Pasaje Coronel Cabrer, we can see another mural by the artist Josefina Di Nucci that shows a girl with a flower crown. This is without a doubt one of my favorite murals in the area!

• EXABRUPTO DE COLOR (EXABRUPT OF COLOR)

This mural is located a little further from the popular area of ​​Palermo Soho but it is still worth seeing. “Exabrupto de color” is a work by artist Alfredo Segatori on the facade of Casa Walsh.

• PLAZA LUNA DE EN FRENTE

This plaza is full of incredible murals and the nearby streets as well. The colors give a fun vibe to the square which is a bit small.

• LO DE AMELIA

This house has beautiful and very realistic paintings on its facade. The one I like the most is the Peacock.

• BESOS Y CORAZONES (KISSES AND HEARTS)

Opposite to “Lo de Amelia” is this beautiful mural where you can see an interpretation of “The Kiss” by Gustav Klimpt.

• SÍNDROME DE ARTE (ART SYNDROME)

On the corner of Gurruchaga and Nicaragua we find this mural by Pinta Argentina, a project for the inclusion, integration and equal opportunities of all people.
