Located at the foot of the Pyrenees mountains, Andorra is a country with a surface area of barely 468 km², chosen by many to go skiing, visit its charming town, enjoy outdoor activities and go shopping.
Where to stay in Andorra
This post will be divided into 3 main sections according to the 3 ski centers in Andorra, which are: Grandvalira, Vallnord and Ordino. Today the 3 centers are unified under the same ski pass or ski pass that allows you to access any of the centers for the same price.
Living in Barcelona which is so close to Andorra, I visited the country several times for snowboarding and I consider it essential to stay in a hotel or apartment as close as possible to the ski center that you want to visit. This really makes a difference as it is very convenient and saves you time.
GRANDVALIRA
Grandvalira is the largest ski resort in the Pyrenees, with more than 200 km of slopes. It is divided into 7 sectors, all connected to each other: Encamp, Canillo, El Tarter, Soldeu, Peretol, Grau Roig and Pas de la Casa.
1.Encamp
Encamp is one of the best areas in Andorra to stay if you plan to go skiing. Access to Grandvalira is via the Funicamp, a 6 km cable car that takes you from the center of Encamp to the ski resort.

Pas de la Casa is the closest area to France. It is the sector with the largest amount of accommodation and also a lot of after ski atmosphere. Particularly for me, it is an area that I didn’t like so much and I don’t recommend it as a first option because it is difficult to access and not as picturesque as other areas of Andorra. However, you can find very cheap accommodation so if you don’t want to spend too much it is the best area to stay in Andorra.
