How to get to Cerro Catedral?
Cerro Catedral is located 19 kilometers from the center of San Carlos de Bariloche and 1 hour from the airport. There are several options to reach the mountain.
- Taxi from the city center or airport or private transfer from Bariloche airport
- Bus 55: the local bus number 55 runs from the bus terminal, passes through the city center, and ends at the base of Cerro Catedral, making it an option for those not staying at the base of the mountain.
- Car: If you’re not staying at the base of the mountain, renting a car in Bariloche is a good option to reach Cerro Catedral each day. The website I always use and recommend for car rentals is Rentalcars.com.
- Tour to Cerro Catedral from downtown Bariloche: If you’re visiting the mountain for just one day, you might consider booking day trip from the city that includes round-trip transportation like this tour to Circuito Chico an Cerro Catedral.

The base of Cerro Catedral offers all the services visitors might need: hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, etc. So, if your plan is to focus solely on skiing, the most convenient option is to stay at the base of the mountain.
