This 1989 classic will take you straight to some of New York City’s most iconic places like Central Park. A very famous scene from this movie is Meg Ryan’s orgasm at Katz’s Delicatessen, one of New York’s most visited restaurants.

2. Wild
Wild is a biographical adventure drama film starring Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern. It tells the story of a girl who after living some hard moments in her life, decides to leave her home in Minneapolis to hike the Pacific Crest Trail. A woman traveling alone who faces the adversities of the road while discovering and healing herself.

Lost in Translation isa beautiful film directed by Sofia Coppola and tells the story of two Americans starring Scarlett Johanson and Bill Murray who meet in Tokyo. The film shows the cultural barrier that both travelers feel with the city. This film will make you want to plan a trip to Japan now!

A time travel to the 1920 Paris directed by Woody Allen. Owen Wilson lives a surreal story where he meets famous people of that time such as Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgeral, Picasso and others.

5. Before Sunrise / Before sunset / Before midnight
I don’t really like romantic movies but believe me this one is totally different from the rest. “Before sunrise” tells the story of two travelers who meet on a train and spend a day together in Vienna, Austria. This film is followed by “Before Sunset” with Paris as the setting and “Before Midnight” which takes place in Greece. A 9 year period passed between each movie, in real life and in the history of the main characters.

6. The Beach
It is always a good time to see the movie that made the island of Maya Bay in Thailand so popular. A young American man comes to Thailand in search of new experiences. Leo DiCaprio and paradise itself, nothing can go wrong.

This is a story that personally inspired me a lot when I first saw it. Into the wild is based on Jon Krakauer’s book written in 1995, which tells the true story of Christopher McCandless. In 1990 Chris decided to leave the comfort of his home and family to venture alone aross the United States. A trip full of adventure, nature and learnings. The soundtrack of the film by Eddie Vedder is also amazing.

8. The secret life of Walter MittyUndoubtedly one of the most inspiring travel movies. Walter Mitty is a dreamer who escapes his routine and takes us on adventures across Los Angeles, New York, Greenland and Iceland. This movie inspired thousands of people to travel more and showcases some of the best landscapes of Iceland!

9. The Darjeeling LimitedA dramatic comedy directed by Wes Anderson (who in my opinion makes you travel to a complete different world which each of his films). It tells the story of 3 brothers played by Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzman who start a train journey through India after one year without seeing each other.

10. Eat, Pray, Love
I couldn’t leave out of the list this film based on Elizabeth Gilbert’s book that has inspired so many people to travel. Julia Roberts takes us on a journey of self-discovering and visits Italy, Indonesia and India.
